We Need High School Umpires and Soccer Referees

The Pendleton County Recreation Department is looking for individuals interested in helping local youth sports continue to thrive during the 2026 fall sports season. With fall baseball, softball and soccer activities getting underway, the Recreation Department needs high school umpires and soccer referees to help officiate games throughout the season.
Officiating youth sports is a great way to give back to the community while supporting local athletes. Umpires and referees play an important role in making sure games are conducted fairly, safely and in a positive environment for players, coaches and families. Whether you have previous officiating experience or are interested in getting involved, those who are eligible and interested are encouraged to reach out to the Pendleton County Recreation Department for more information about opportunities, requirements and scheduling.
With hundreds of local families participating in youth athletics, having enough qualified officials is essential to keeping games on the schedule and providing young athletes with a quality experience. If you are a high school student, parent, former athlete or community member who would like to get involved, consider becoming a youth sports official this fall. Contact the Pendleton County Recreation Department to learn more about becoming a baseball or softball umpire or soccer referee for the 2026 season.
