A familiar Pendleton County facility is getting a new look as plans move forward for renovations and improvements to the Pendleton County Extension Office. Architectural plans and renderings show a significant transformation of the existing facility, with updated spaces designed to provide a more modern, functional environment for Extension staff and the community.
The proposed remodel includes improvements throughout the building, including a new reception area, conference room, workrooms and open office areas. The plans show updated workspaces with additional cabinetry, work surfaces and flexible areas designed to accommodate the day-to-day operations of the Extension Office.
One of the more noticeable changes will be the building's appearance. Architectural renderings show a modern exterior featuring a combination of brick, dark siding, large windows and a prominent entrance area. The proposed design also incorporates updated landscaping and improved pedestrian access around the building. The exterior renderings are identified as Option 2 in the project documents.
Inside, the proposed design places an emphasis on spaces that can serve a variety of purposes. A dedicated conference room includes a large meeting table and presentation area, while the workrooms feature flexible tables, storage and workspace. The plans also include open office areas and additional support spaces.
We reached out to the extension office about the project and they had this to say:
The upcoming addition and renovation will provide a much-needed improvement to the working and office areas of our facility while allowing us to better serve the residents of Pendleton County. One of the greatest benefits will be the addition of much-needed office space. Currently, three staff members share one small office, while another staff member works from a converted closet, so the added space will greatly improve daily operations and staff efficiency. The new entrance will also enhance safety and security for our staff while creating an accessible after-hours library area where the public can pick up and drop off educational materials and other Extension resources. Additional storage will further improve organization and functionality throughout the building. We are excited to see this project completed and look forward to welcoming the public into an updated space designed to better meet the needs of our community.
The project represents an investment in a facility that plays an important role in Pendleton County. Through its agricultural, educational, family and community programs, the Extension Office serves residents throughout the county. The planned improvements are designed to give the office a refreshed appearance while creating more functional spaces for the people who work there and the residents who utilize Extension services.
The architectural renderings offer a glimpse at what the Pendleton County Extension Office could look like once the improvements are complete — and it appears to be a substantial transformation of the existing facility. The project plans include both interior renovations and exterior additions, giving the building a more modern appearance while expanding and improving usable space.
