Why We Accept Donations

Rural News Media was created because we believe local communities deserve local media. Covering rural communities takes time, resources and people — from reporting local news and attending community events to covering high school sports, promoting tourism, highlighting local businesses and keeping our community calendars and social media updated. Donations help us continue doing that work and allow us to dedicate more time and resources to the communities we serve.

Your support helps us grow our local coverage. As Rural News Media expands beyond Pendleton and Bracken Counties into Grant County, Harrison County and other surrounding rural communities, there will be more stories to tell and more events, sports, organizations, businesses and community activities to cover. Donations can help support the technology, equipment, travel, content creation and other expenses involved in building a stronger local media network.

Donations also help us continue developing The Source Radio, our online country radio station. Our goal is to bring listeners great country music along with live DJs several times a week and local information that keeps people connected to their communities. We want The Source to become another important part of Rural News Media — giving local residents another way to discover what's happening around them while enjoying the music they love.

Help Us Tell Your Story

Rural News Media is designed to grow with the communities we serve. While paid sponsorships and advertising partnerships help provide our primary revenue, community donations give individuals an opportunity to directly support the mission and future of Rural News Media. Every contribution, large or small, helps us continue building a local media resource focused on the people, places and stories that make rural Kentucky special.

If you believe rural communities deserve a strong local voice, we invite you to be part of what we're building.
