Sunday, September 20th, was the Pendleton County Cooperative of Churches annual outdoor Old Fashioned Gospel Hymn Sing. It was wonderful!! All 10 groups and individuals did an amazing job in spite of the heat!! It was 93°!!! To have a community event like this is a powerful witness to this whole county!!! Coming together to worship on earth is a small human idea compared to eternity together in Heaven! God is good all the time!! We're starting to prepare for our 2027 old fashioned gospel hymn sing now!!

Bro. Greg and Cherie are on vacation this week so his son-in -law Wayne Oaks was our guest speaker. Scripture was Psalm 27. Message Fear, Strength and Armor. Fear can cripple us in so many ways. Some people fear standing in front of people to share a message. I think one of the biggest fears a lot of people have is “what others will think of them”. It sometimes holds people back from accepting Jesus as their Savior. The Bible states that “we have nothing to fear but fear itself”. Is fear holding you back from making the biggest decision you could ever make? Let Go and Let God.

It was a great day to be in the House of the Lord! This was a special Sunday as we had breakfast during Sunday School. Our church has some amazing cooks, and we enjoyed many delicious casseroles as we studied God’s word. Our Sunday School lesson focused on being still and not just constantly asking for something when we pray. The most important part is actually taking time to listen to God when He’s speaking to us through the Holy Spirit.
Bro. Harry then brought the message during worship service titled “When Your Faith Is Tested” with the scripture coming from Luke 22: 31-34. Just as Peter’s faith was tested at Jesus’ trial & crucifixion, we too often think nothing will ever shake our faith. When asked, we will say nothing can happen that will make us question our faith in God. Then trials come through sickness, financial issues, family problems and so much more that the enemy uses to try to get us to doubt God’s faithfulness. What we need to remember is that just as Jesus forgave Peter for denying he knew him out of fear of persecution, God will always be our stronghold when the world tries to break us and tear us away from God’s love and grace.
We welcome you to join us next Sunday at 10:00 for Sunday School and 11:00.

Bro. Colten's message starts a new series on "Discipleship". We should always be growing and learning in our faith, being true disciples of Christ.
Highlighting a few points from our scripture in John 1:35-46
Does your life point others to Jesus? John the Baptist pointed others to Christ as he is the Lamb of God. Do our actions and words point others to Christ?
What do you seek? Christ asking the first disciples what they seek. In reflection of our own life. What are we truly seeking in this life?
We are given a new name, identity, and purpose in Christ! Simon received a new name and identity when he encountered Christ. We also see the first disciples gaining purpose in their life. Taking the message of Christ to others!
Join us at Unity Baptist Church! We would love to have you!
