It was a great day to be in the House of the Lord! Our Sunday School lessons are continuing to focus on God speaking to us through the Holy Spirit. This week we talked about how He speaks to us through our circumstances. We know that God is always in control of every situation and can make something good out of something bad.
Bro Harry’s message titled “The Assurance of Salvation” talked about how many people actually question whether they are really saved and will have eternal life. We know that salvation begins with Jesus’ death and resurrection and that there’s nothing we can do to earn it. We do not have to rely on works, church membership or tithing because the Bible tells us that whoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life. It has nothing to do with the things we accomplish in this life but what Jesus accomplished at the resurrection. We still need to live a Godly life to not cause others to stumble and genuine faith should change us into being more obedient to God’s will. When the Holy Spirit lives in our hearts, we will not be comfortable living a sinful life. The assurance of salvation rests on God’s promise in I John 5:13.
Next Sunday we will join Trinity and having our worship service at the main stage at the Wool Festival. Hope to see you there at 11:00!

The Sunday school lesson posed the question, When has an unexpected meeting or conversation changed your perspective? Please read Romans 8:26-35 and think about how those scriptures could have helped you better handle that question.
Delight in God’s word from Psalm 1:1 was the children’s message, and Bro. Dale explained how much good can come from reading God’s word, the Bible.
Tori Florer read I Thessalonians 5:23-24 followed by the Praise team singing, All the Poor and Powerless. Bro. Dale’s message Salvation: What? Came from Philippians 1:6. “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ:’ v. 6. Salvation is not a one-time thing, once we proclaim to believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we should be willing to commit to our salvation and work the way God wants us to until Jesus comes again: to witness, to mentor, to lead by example, to help with discipleship. We should want to do these things for others the same way someone did them for us.

2nd Kings 6:8-23. Syria was declaring war against Israel. The Syrian army had a large army, and the Israelites were afraid of them. Elisha told them not to be afraid because God would be with Israel. The lesson for us is that when times are at their worst, that’s when God carries us. That’s when we need to have faith. God is always there beside you and He is never late. So put yourself in His hands. Please remember the families of Kathy Roland, Timmy Baughn and Jerry Fields. Sunday school at 10 am, with Worship service following at 11 am. Please come join us. 5080 Broadford Rd. Falmouth. Need a ride call 859-654-5080.

This past week at Harvest Community church we had a great service. The spirit was evidently moving in the service, the songs that were sang were very appropriate to the moving of the Lord.
Songs sang for the day were: Living Hope, Lord, I need you, and same God. We had about 28 in attendance, and we had a message about Peter’s denial of Jesus. We finished the service with an invitation song of Good Good Father. Communion was a blessing. If you’re looking for a place to worship God where you can worship freely, come join us for Wednesday Bible study @6:30pm, Sunday school @9:30 am and worship services start @10:30.

Jesus’ parable about “The rich man and Lazarus, the Poor Man,” in Luke 16:19-31, was the focus of our service this week. In it, the rich man goes from living a life of luxury on earth to finding himself in hell after death. Meanwhile, Lazarus, the poor man, upon his death, is carried by angels to Father Abraham in heaven. Despite the rich man’s begging Abraham to have Lazarus quench his thirst, to ease the intense heat, his wish is not granted. He remains in hell. This is a huge reversal of expectations for the rich and the poor.
It may seem that Jesus’ point in this parable is how evil wealth is. But, you see, the wealth is not the problem; it is the rich man’s misuse of that wealth that caused him to end up in hell. Each of us is given some kind of wealth. It is our responsibility to use that wealth to share God’s love with all and, consequently, have a strong relationship with God, through Christ.
