On September 24 th , 2026, the Pendleton County High School graduating class of 2027
celebrated Senior Sunrise at the school. The event, hosted by Senior Council, began at 6:30 am
with 70 Seniors in attendance. “We had breakfast, drinks, dirty sodas, cornhole, and a large
Connect 4 game. We tried to watch the sunrise, but it was too foggy and cloudy,” informed
Senior class president Aubrey Mullins.
The Seniors were treated to breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, hot chocolate, and coffee
provided by the PCHS cafeteria staff, and doughnuts from Jennifer Melton, Gaining Early
Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEAR-UP) program manager.
“I thought it went good. There were more people than I expected. All groups (of Seniors)
came—YSA kids (Youth Scholars Academy), PC Cares. Everyone seemed to have fun. This is
the kickoff for the Senior activities,” explained Mullins.
